Thyme Fleet has rolled out its first triad of hybrid vehicles, heralding a new era for the Lonsdale-based business.

The keys to three Toyota RAV4 hybrids were handed over to SAGE Automation on Tuesday (May 31), following the client’s request for an eco-friendly fleet option.

The RAV4s use Toyota’s signature petrol-electric hybrid technology to produce outstanding power delivery and fuel efficiency.

Although a first for Thyme Fleet, General Manager Sonja Boon says the company will respond to any clients’ requests for hybrid cars in the future.

“Hybrids have been around for a long time, this isn’t anything new, but fully electric vehicles are where the industry is going so this is a step towards that,” she says.

“The government push is for Australia to be electric in the future so this is something we can expect to see more of – it’s quite exciting for the future of fleet.”

SAGE Automation National Service Manager Shannon Neyland says the company’s decision to use hybrid cars is part of its commitment to sustainability.

“We all understand the importance of reducing emissions, and we’re proud to be introducing hybrid vehicles to our fleet in order to contribute to this,” Shannon says.

“It’s just one example of how we deliver on SAGE Group’s purpose of creating a smarter future, a better world.”
